Suzanne Spurgeon formed Women Media Pros in 2007 after a long career in broadcast journalism. Her career includes producing, reporting and anchoring positions in Milwaukee, Peoria and Des Moines. She then spent 18 years rising through the ranks at CNN--from Producer to LA Bureau Chief/Vice President.
In recent years, Spurgeon served as Director of Communications at UTLA, the second largest teachers’ union local in the country. Spurgeon improved media relations during her tenure and facilitated local and network interviews for union officers. She staged news conferences, wrote news releases and executive talking points, produced videos, updated the website, posted to social media, and wrote newsletters and other pieces for internal distribution to members.
Today Spurgeon leads the team at Women Media Pros, a group of award-winning journalists who provides media training, crisis communications, public relations and video production to clients worldwide.
