That's Entertainment

By Suzanne Spurgeon  June 2, 2009

I am embarrassed to admit I tuned in for a few minutes of the new reality show, "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!"  First off, is the wife of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich really want passes for a celebrity these days? My advice to contestant Lou Diamond Phillips...throw the competition and get the heck out of there.  I am clearly not the right demographic for this NBC show, but I don't know anyone who is.

There was a bright spot on NBC last night: "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien".  I loved the opening with O'Brien running from NY to Hollywood.  Whether or not NBC's programming gamble will work, once Jay Leno returns at 10pm, is anyone's guess.  Changing viewing patterns is not an exact science.

In the news business, changing out talent, is pretty common.  But mess with the time the newscast airs, or change the format dramatically, and you risk losing your core viewers. And with so much news content available on-line, those core viewers are more important than ever.
